At Lagersmit in Alblasserdam, we are proud to sponsor Z.V.V. Pelikaan – a club with a rich history and a warm, beating heart in Zwijndrecht. The club was founded on August 1, 1932, and takes its name from the iconic KLM aircraft ‘Pelikaan,’ which made a historic flight to the then Dutch East Indies in 1933.
Together
Every week, the sports park ‘het Pelidome’ brings together people of all ages. From young players to loyal supporters on the sidelines, Pelikaan is a place where everyone is welcome. The club now has over 750 members, with more than 40 teams and a rapidly growing girls’ and women’s section since 2008.
Development
Under the guidance of coach Joery van der Waal, the first team competes in the 3rd class F of the Saturday league. But Pelikaan is about more than league standings. The club offers ample room for growth, enjoyment, and athletic development — all on a complex that Zwijndrecht can be proud of.
