Posidonia recap
THANK YOU
ATHENS DELIVERED — IN EVERY SENSE
Posidonia is like no other exhibition in shipping. Four days at the Metropolitan Expo, an audience of shipowners and operators from across the world, and a city that turns every evening into an extension of the conversations started on the show floor. Booth 4.125, shared with our trusted agent UMAR WSR of the UW-Group, gave us the platform to connect with customers old and new and to show what Supreme® sealing solutions can do for demanding marine propulsion systems.
A sincere thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked hard questions, and shared their operational experience with us. It is exactly those conversations that inform what we build next.

WHAT WE TOOK AWAY FROM POSIDONIA
Environmental compliance dominated discussions across the show floor. Greek shipowners, among the world's largest fleet operators, are actively evaluating how to eliminate oil-to-sea interfaces across existing vessels, not just newbuilds. The Supreme Ventus® air-type sealing addressed this directly and drew attention throughout the week.
With shipyard order books full and newbuild slots stretched, the focus for many operators is on what can be achieved during scheduled dry-docking. Upgrading to Supreme® seals at the next maintenance window, reducing leakage risk and extending the life of existing propulsion systems, resonated strongly as a practical, bankable improvement.
The Posidonia audience is relationship-driven. Conversations were rarely transactional; they were about understanding the full picture of a fleet's sealing challenges over time. Being present at this show, alongside UMAR WSR, reinforced Lagersmit's commitment to the Greek and Eastern Mediterranean maritime market.
Fleet managers overseeing vessels across multiple regions are increasingly interested in seal condition monitoring without waiting for port calls. The Supreme Ventus® Remote Monitoring Portal, enabling real-time seal health visibility from anywhere, generated genuine interest from operators looking to move towards predictive maintenance.
BEYOND THE SHOW
THURSDAY EVENING: THE UMAR PRINCIPALS' BBQ
One of Posidonia's best-kept traditions is the network that forms around the show, not just inside it. On Thursday evening, UMAR WSR hosted a private BBQ for all principals exhibiting at the UMAR booth, a gathering that kept the business conversations going long past dinner. The evening reminded us why Posidonia occupies a category of its own: relationships built over a plate and a glass tend to outlast any brochure. The Lagersmit team also made their mark at the karaoke mic, apparently with some conviction.

SUPREME® SEALING SOLUTIONS
The Supreme® is Lagersmit's maritime sealing solution for propulsion systems — covering stern tubes, thrusters, rudder stocks, bulkheads, and gearboxes. Built for continuous operation in corrosive, high-pressure environments far from shore, the range spans from the Supreme® Standard for conventional oil-lubricated systems to the Supreme Ventus®, which enables air-type sealing and directly supports zero-emission vessel requirements.
All Supreme® seals are designed with long service intervals, minimal maintenance, and both newbuild and retrofit applications in mind.
