How it works
The Supreme Standard is suitable as a forward seal (STF) and an aft seal (STA) for shaft diameters from 116 to 1150 millimetres. The aft seal prevents water ingress to the stern tube and oil leakage to the outside environment. The forward seal prevents oil leakage from the stern tube to your engine room. The Supreme Standard is suitable for both new-build and retrofit applications.
Due to the modular design, you can customise your seal using a broad range of options. The most used options for the Supreme Standard are:
- hard metal liner coating
- Hastelloy® C4 springs
- net cutters
- wire winders

The Supreme Standard consists of high-quality bronze (aft seal) and cast iron (forward seal) housing parts and a stainless steel liner. The aft seal has two water-repellent and one oil-repellent rubber (NBR or FKM) lip seals. The forward seal consists of two oil-repellent lip seals, which are lubricated by a compact circulation tank.
